Douglas Luiz Joins Juventus
Aston Villa’s Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz has signed a five-year contract with Juventus.
Tasnim News Agency reports that Juventus officially announced the signing of Douglas Luiz with a contract extending until June 30, 2029.
Born in 1998 in Rio de Janeiro, Luiz made his debut with Vasco da Gama in 2016. He quickly moved to Manchester City but was loaned to Girona in Spain for two years, where he made a name for himself.
Luiz played 46 games for Girona before joining Aston Villa in the English Premier League. He made his international debut for Brazil in November 2019 and played 204 times for Aston Villa, scoring 22 goals and providing 24 assists.
Luiz was part of Brazil’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The transfer fee for Luiz to Juventus is reported to be 50 million euros
